Samsung gamepadCustomers wanting to play mobile games in a perhaps more comfortable manner might be interested in the Samsung Smartphone GamePad, an accessory one can attach to mobile devices ranging from 4- to 6.3-inch in size.

Reminiscent of recently-launched iPhone controllers, the GamePad pairs with Android 4.1 smartphones or tablets via Bluetooth or NFC and features a d-pad, 2 analogue sticks, 4 buttons and 2 triggers. It also allows users to play games on their TVs through either HDMI cable or AllShare screen mirroring.

In addition Samsung Galaxy devices get a Mobile Console app store (summoned by pressing the PLAY button on the controller) for the purchase of GamePad-compatible games. The launch lineup consists of 35 titles, including Need for Speed Most Wanted, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and Virtua Tennis Challenge.

The Samsung GamePad is available now in select European markets, with more to follow in the coming weeks.
