Photography and Printing Via Prynt Case

A French hardware startup wants to combine the instant printing of Polaroid cameras with the convenience of smartphones with the Prynt, a case with a built-in printer for instant physical copies of selfies and the like.

PryntSet for a near future launch, the Prynt supports devices up to 4.x-inch in size-- although the company also promises a mount for larger handsets such as the iPhone 6 Plus or Galaxy Note. It connects physically with smartphones, and uses of a companion app to record videos and securely store files in the cloud while one is taking photos.

Few details are available on the actual printing, but according to TechCrunch in its current form the case holds a single sheet of photo paper and takes 50 seconds to produce a physical photo. However the consumer version should be able to hold 10-30 sheets and take less than 30 seconds to print, the makers promise.

We will learn more about the Prynt case early next year, once it makes an appearance on the Kickstarter preorder/crowdfunding platform.
