Apple opens an iSight camera replacement program for the iPhone 6 Plus-- one involving the replacement of a faulty rear-facing camera module of a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices.

iPhone 6 cameraAccording to the company a number of iPhone 6 Plus units sold between September 2014 and January 2015 might have a faulty Optical Image Stabilisation unit causing blurry photos. The issue only affects the larger iPhone, since the regular-size iPhone 6 lacks Optical Image Stabilisation.

As such, the owners of faulty devices producing with an eligible serial number can get free camera replacements through either online Apple support, Apple retail store or Apple Authorised Service Provider. Customers need to solve other possible damage issues (such as cracked screens) before camera replacement.

The program covers iPhone 6 Plus iSight cameras for 3 years after first retail sale of the unit.
