Apple might insist removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 was an act of "courage," but Incipio sets to satisfy customers who think otherwise with the OX, a case featuring the humble 3.5mm connector.

Incipio OXAs seen at CES 2017, the OX case comes in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus variants. It fits over the Lightning port and adds an additional Lightning port as well as the aforementioned 3.5mm jack for the use of traditional headphones. The case is admittedly bulky, but it does allow simultaneous charging and music listening without need for an additional adapter or dongle.

In addition the case promises to protect the iPhone display and body from drops through a shock-absorbing exterior.

“We wanted to bring the headphone jack back to the latest iPhone so our customers could still enjoy their favorite pair of traditional headphones without worrying about low-battery and sacrificing device protection,” the company says. “The protective OX case allows individuals to use existing headphones with a 3.5mm audio connector through the built-in headphone jack, while simultaneously allowing access to the Lightning port for charging.”

The OX case hits the market on Q1 2017.
