Huawei teams up with camera maker Insta360 to launch the Honor VR Camera-- a 360-degree clip-on camera designed for use with the Chinese company's Honor smartphone range.
Not much in terms of details on the Honor VR Camera is known as yet, other than it featuring "3K photography" support and live-streaming capabilities. As one might imagine it works together with an Insta360-developed companion app for the saving and sharing of 360-degree videos and snaps.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Huawei to grow the global community of 360-degree and VR creators,” Insta360 says. “Like us, Huawei is committed to reinventing photography, and they believe in our products as the best way to introduce users to the future of the camera.”
Huawei adds the camera will be available internationally, but it is not certain whether the Honor VR Camera works solely with Honor smartphones or with a range of different devices. Either way more details should emerge following Mobile World Congress 2017.
