Accessory maker Belkin releases something of a first-- the BoostCharge Power Bank Lightning 10K is an Apple-approved battery pack complete with Lighting port input.
The addition of the Apple-exclusive port means customers can plug the battery in the same Lightning cable used with the iPhone or iPad. It also offers a pair of USB-A ports for charging other devices, one offering a 2.4 amp jack and the other a slower 1 amp jack, while actual power comes through a 10000mAh cell.
Further features include a button-activate row of 4 LEDs showing current charge level, and a button allowing users to switch between charging input and output modes as required. Apple started allowing device makers to put Lightning ports in products via the MFi program since 2014, but it is only now that a company has used the option in a battery pack.
The BoostCharge Power Bank Lightning 10K ships in a choice of either white or black colours from August 2018.
