Sony launches what it claims is the smartphone with the highest ISO around-- the Xperia X72 Premium, the first handset from the camera with a dual-camera array promising ISO reaching 51200 for photos.

Xperia X72 PremiumThe camera array pairs a primary 19MP sensor with a 12MP monochrome sensor to improve low-light performance. The two sensors feed image data to a AUBE fusion image signal processor to enable what Sony describes as "ultra sensitivity with clean, noise-less images." Video recording is also improved, with a "Motion Eye" system enabling 960fps recording with ISO 12800 sensitivity.

As for the rest of the smartphone, the X72 Premium is pretty similar to the non-premium X72, if with a 5.8-inch 4K HDR display offering a 30% brightness increase. Construction is in glass, and inside are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage (expandable via microSD card) and a 3450mAh battery. Powering the device is Android Oreo, and further features include Qi wireless charging, water resistance and a "Dynamic Vibration System."

Orders for the Xperia X72 Premium are open, with a package complete with a pair of Xperia Ear Duo earbuds.
