The Tile Bluetooth tracker portfolio gets an update in the shape of two trackers-- the Tile Mate and Tile Pro, both offering replaceable coin cell batteries and a subscription service covering said batteries.

The Tile Mate has a Bluetooth range of 45m, and promises to be 100% louder compared to the previous version. Meanwhile the Tile Pro has 90m range, and is 50% louder. A small door in the back covers the battery, specifically a CR1632 coin cell battery for the Tile Mate and a CR2032 for the Tile Pro.

The company says the battery lasts for around 12 months, and the companion Tile app lets users know when power is about to run out. Of course, customers can go ahead and buy a battery once it happens, but in case one owns a lot of Tile trackers (or are simply lazy), Tile offers a Premium service providing automatic battery replacements every year for an unlimited number of trackers.

The Premium service also adds a 3-year warranty, on-demand customer support via SMS, unlimited tracker sharing (in case customers track devices together), location history and a "Smart Alerts" feature. The location history feature provides a map of the last known locations of a Tile over the last 30 days, while Smart Alerts remind the user not to leave an item behind at a (pre-configured) address.

The Tile Mate and Tile Pro are available now in either white or black colours.
