Joan Comes to the Home Office

The coronavirus pandemic has led to a massive increase of home workers-- and many need a way to let family members know when they can (and cannot) interrupt.

Joan Hme

And that means Joan Home, a consumer version of the Visionect meeting room display solution.

A small and lightweight ePaper display able to display current availability and the calendar/schedule for the day, Joan connects to existing calendars wirelessly, with support for all major ones, and updates user status in real-time without need to install yet another app.

In fact, setup takes place via online Joan portal complete with language and custom content settings.

Based on eInk, the Joan Home is very energy efficient, and needs charging only "every few weeks." Mounting also promises to be simple, since the lightweight device attaches to surfaces via magnetic pad, with no drilling or wiring required. Once the workday is over, the user can also turn the Joan Home into an information board or picture frame.

“Staying close with our customers has enabled us to understand how people work and what they need to be their best selves," the company says. "That’s why Visionect, at the recent turn of events, sprung to action and developed a solution for easing workflow and reducing meeting interruptions at home."

The Joan Home is available now.
