Symantec acquires Nukona, makers of Mobile Application Management (MAM) tools allowing the separation personal and business apps across corporate and BYOD smartphones and tablets.
Nukona technology "wraps" individual native and web-based apps on mobile devices, enabling admins to enforce data access and usage policies without changes to actual apps. It works on iOS and Android devices, and also provides encryption and user authentication services.
The purchase follows the earlier acquisition of mobile device management product maker Odyssey Software.
Symantec will start selling Nukona products through its channel partners, as well as security resellers.
