Accessory maker Twelve South announces a version of the BookBook case fitting the latest iPhones-- the BookBook for iPhone 6, a 3-in-one case featuring a wallet, removable shell case and a hands-free viewing stand.

BookBook Iphone6Like previous BookBook cases, the iPhone 6 version is made from "hand-distressed" leather complete with book-like stylings. A wallet allows one to hold cash and receipts, bank cards and IDs, while the removable shell allows one to separate the iPhone from the wallet part of the case.

Also built-in is a kickstand ideal for hands-free FaceTime chats and media viewing.

SanDisk launches the iXpand Flash Drive-- the first USB flash drive from the company designed specifically for the iPhone and iPad, featuring both USB and Lighting connectors.

SanDisk iXpandIt allows simple file transfers between iDevice and PCs or Macs without need for cables or internet connections, as a companion iXpand sync app handles storage management, as well as playback of non-native movie files in formats such as AVI or WMV.

The app also provides cross-platform encryption, allowing users to password-protect files on the drive directly from the iDevice before decryption on PC, and vice versa.

Connected Smarts Reach the Wallet

StreetSmart suggests not even the humble money holder should be lacking in connected smarts as it debuts the SmartWallet-- supposedly the "world's smartest wallet," featuring built-in GPS locator and 1000mAh battery.

SmartWalletThe GPS locator uses Bluetooth LE, and pairs with smartphones to prevent the loss of both devices. Should it get unpaired, the SmartWallet saves the GPS location it was last paired at before sending an alert on a companion SmartWallet app. If one lose their phone, a button on the wallet makes the device ring.

The app also helps one find the wallet, with direction range of around 15-45m.

Intel Aims at Women With MICA

Intel reveals what it describes as a "feminine communications accessory"-- the MICA (or My Intelligent Communication Accessory), a device that is essentially a smartwatch, if one clad as a fancy piece of jewelry.

Intel MICALike any self respecting wearable the MICA provides users with access to emails, text messages, calendar events, social network notifications and a personal concierge" complete with TomTom-powered "Time to Go" letting one know how much time is required to get to the next appointment. Notifications for such alerts are discrete, being vibration-based, and of course all requires pairing with a smartphone via Bluetooth.

Configuration and security comes through web-based portal, while Intel promises the battery lasts for up to 2 days on a single charge.
