Apple releases an update on the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter-- now offering a USB-C port, HDMI port and USB-A port together with support for HDMI 2.0, allowing it to handle 4K video at 60Hz.

Apple adapterThe updated version (model number A2119) retains the same dimensions as the first (model A1621), and can handle video MacBook Pro (introduced in 2017 or later), Retina iMac (from 2017 or later), iMac Pro and iPad Pro models. The Mac needs to be running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or later, while the iPad needs to be running iOS 12.4 or later.

The iPad Pro slots into the dock using magnets, and the arms can be lowered to bring the tablet to desk level. The back of the dock features a number of ports, including HDMI, USB-C, USB 3.0 and 3.5mm jack, and the it connects and charges via the iPad Pro USB-C port.

Nomad announces a cable range update-- one including USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to Lighting, "Universal" and USB-C to Lightning cables in a variety of lengths-- all featuring construction in Kevlar for increased durability.

Nomad says it uses Kevlar both inside and outside the cables, since the material makes both the braided exterior and the central internal core.
