Microsoft Goes Low-End With Lumia 650

Microsoft announces the Lumia 650-- a successor to the low-end Lumia 550 featuring a featuring an anodised aluminium border and a 5-inch 1280x720 resolution OLED display.

Lumia 650Specifications are fairly basic, being a quad-core 1.3GHz Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 2000mAh battery and 8MP rear-/5MP front-facing cameras. It supports NFC and LTE connectivity and is fairly thin and light, being 6.9mm thick and weighing all of 122g.

Like other recent Microsoft smartphones the Lumia 650 runs on Windows 10 Mobile. However, since it is a low-end device it lacks biometric authentication and is unable to run the Continuum feature for use as a desktop PC.

The Lumia 650 isĀ availableĀ in select European territories in a choice of single- and dual-SIM variants by end February 2016.
