LG Intros Call-Making Urbane 2nd Edition

LG launches a sequel to the Urbane "luxury" smartwatch-- the Urbane 2nd Edition, a wearable the company describes as "the first Android Wear device to feature cellular connectivity."

Urbane 2ndThe watch supports 4G and 3G networks, allowing users to make calls from their wrists without need for pairing with smartphones over Bluetooth or wifi.

Specifications-wise the Urbane 2nd Edition features a 480x480 resolution circular P-OLED display with pixel density reaching 348ppi (the highest on the market, LG claims), a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB built-in storage, 570mAh battery, heart rate tracking and stress level monitoring. Control comes through either touchscreen or 3 buttons on the right side allowing quick access to settings such as contacts, LG Health and apps lists.

Construction is in hairline-etched stainless steel, while the wristband is in hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer.

LG is still to provide availability details, but it should arrive in EMEA territories sometime after the US and S. Korea.
