How Does One Make Waterproof Gadgets?

HzO has a proposal for the above question-- WaterBlock, a technology promising to make any mobile device as waterproof as a duck's back.

HzOThe technology consists of a nano-scale waterproof coat companies can apply to device components at manufacturing stage. It appears to work, too. At CES 2012, the company showed off the technology by dropping a working WaterBlock-treated iPod in a fishtank. The media player continued playing, even under water.

The WaterBlock treatment is transparent, and works on materials including plastic, metal, ceramic, steel or tin.

HzO now needs to find manufacturers willing to start using the technology, and hopes WaterBlock-treated CE will start hitting the market sometime around H2 2012.
