The Rylo pocket-size 360-degree camera gets Android support via companion app for devices running on the OS complete with video stabilisation, directing and editing capabilities.
Launched back in November 2017 for iDevices, the Rylo sits somewhere between the low-cost Insta360 One and high-end GoPro Fusion cameras. It features a pair of 208-degree lenses and auto-stabilisation technology, and records video as a 4K resolution 360-degree sphere. Video transfers between camera and app take place not via wifi but through a traditional transfer cable.
The Android version of the compatible app is compatible with Android 6.0 and higher, and requires a more powerful smartphone (such as the latest Galaxy or Pixel devices). Users can export the entire 360-degree video or create a framed clip from a 1080p section. An auto-follow feature automatically tracks a chosen subject, and users can also manually select clip framing points.
