Nomad Clads Cables in Kevlar

Nomad announces a cable range update-- one including USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to Lighting, "Universal" and USB-C to Lightning cables in a variety of lengths-- all featuring construction in Kevlar for increased durability.

Kevlar NomadThe Kevlar used in the cables is K29, an industrial version of the material found in body and vehicle armour. Nomad says it uses Kevlar both inside and outside the cables, since the material makes both the braided exterior and the central internal core. Meanwhile the connector plugs are in metal alloy, and all applicable cables are MFi-certified.

The USB-C to Lightning cable comes in 1.5 and 3m lengths, and allows for fast charging at up to 18W. The USB-A to Lightning cable comes in the same lengths, but at a lower price (and no fast charging). The USB-C to USB-C cable can charge at up to 100W, making it ideal for laptops such as the recent MacBook range. The final "universal" cable comes with either a USB-A or USB-C adapter on one end, and Micro USB, USB-C, and Lightning adapters on the other. It is available in 1.5 or 0.3m lengths.

The Kevlar-clad Nomad cables are available now.
