A Surface-Style MagicDock for the iPad Pro

Customers wanting to turn the iPad Pro into even more of a desktop-like computer solution might get a crowdfunded solution with the MagicDock, a dock accessory with a hinge design very reminiscent of the Microsoft Surface Studio.

MagicdockThe MagicDock features flexible hinge users can rotate 90-degrees from landscape to portrait mode, allowing them to switch between different use modes. The iPad Pro slots into the dock using magnets, and the arms can be lowered to bring the tablet to desk level. The back of the dock features a number of ports, including HDMI, USB-C, USB 3.0 and 3.5mm jack, and the it connects and charges via the iPad Pro USB-C port.

Construction of the dock is in anodised aluminium, and it comes in two models compatible with either the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. The manufacturing promises to be both high quality and long-lasting, and it will even include a microfibre cover to protect the back of the iPad Pro when attached to the dock.

Maker Steve Warren has already smashed past an initial $8000 goal in pledges, and says shipments should start on October 2019.
