PengPod1040Dual-booting Android/Linux tablet maker PengPod goes a step further and announces a TRIPLE-booting tablet-- the PengPod1040, a 9.7-inch device able to switch between Android, GNU/Linux and Ubuntu Touch.

The PengPod1040 carries a quad-core A31 CPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage (expandable via microSD) together with a display handling resolutions of up to 2048x1536 and a fairly standard selection of connectivity options (wifi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI).

It is also open source, meaning users can tweak the software to their hearts' desires-- one install the likes of Fedora, Arch or OpenSUSE, among others, on the device-- and PengPod promises painless booting between operating systems via on screen menu.

The company is currently looking for pre-orders/donations on Indiegogo, and hopes to reach a campaign goal of $349000 in all of a month.
