Beats reveals the first speaker (if not first complete new device) since it was acquired by Apple-- the Pill+, a slightly larger number than the original Pill featuring a tweaked design.
Unlike the completely pill-shaped Pill, the Pill+ has a flat panel around the middle housing the power and volume controls. A Lightning cable handles charging duties, and Beats claims battery life clocks at 12 hours on a single charge.
Mobile device connectivity comes via Bluetooth, with a companion app handling the pairing of multiple phones or tablets with the speaker or adding of a second Pill+ for even louder sound.
On the audio side the speaker features an active 2-way crossover system to create "an optimised sound field for dynamic range and clarity across all genres of music."
The Pill+ hits retail shelves from November 2015.
